Equipment first,
proposals after.

Whether this fits comes down to what runs between your HMI and your PLC. Send whatever you already know — feasibility is usually clear within an email or two.

helpful to include
  • — HMI make and model
  • — PLC make and model
  • — How they are wired (RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485 / Ethernet)
  • — Any known protocol or parameters (unknown is fine)
  • — What you want to see: output? utilisation? temperature? alarms?
  • — Number of machines, and whether brief downtime for installation is acceptable
